Family Life Materials
California's Comprehensive Health Education Code
Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District teaches Family Life (puberty education) to all fifth graders, as mandated by California's Comprehensive Health Education Ed Code 51890. During the presentation, students are shown videos, review posters, conduct a discussion, lead a question/answer period and are provided handouts on growth and development. Boys and girls have separate presentations. We believe this presentation has great educational benefit and provides a starting point for students to have an open discussion with their parents or guardians.
